 Challenges faced by Writers 1. Editing while writing The issue: It is impossible to resist the overwhelming urge to go back to the work from the previous day and edit it to perfection. The problem with this is that you could always think of new things to add or take out of a scene, so it would never be perfect. The remedy : When you sit down to work, make it a habit to pick up where you left off. You will be able to disregard the previous work once you have finished what you are currently writing. 2. Research that never ends The issue : Research is crucial. Even better is extensive research. However, you only have so much time to devote to research because you need to write a book. It is a huge problem to get bogged down in research that you will never use. The remedy : Make an effort to give specific research actual time.
